Olayemi’s experience spans regulatory compliance, corporate governance, public sector advisory, transport and infrastructure-related commercial structuring in regulated sectors, with experience across Nigeria, Africa-facing mandates, and transactions involving multi-jurisdictional parties, assets, and regulatory considerations.
She has deep experience designing compliance and governance frameworks, advising on regulatory-driven restructurings, corporate reorganisations, cross-border and financing-linked arrangements, multi-party commercial frameworks, and private wealth and family office structures, including governance, succession, ownership, and asset-holding arrangements. Olayemi’s focus is on limiting regulatory and financial exposure and ensuring that structures are compliant, commercially sustainable, and capable of effective enforcement.
Olayemi’s public sector experience includes previous service as a Technical Adviser in the Governor’s Office of a State Government, where she provided legal, ethics, and technical advisory support on official government business, coordinated engagement across ministries, departments, and agencies, managed executive approval process flows, and supported governance, policy, institutional reform, and public sector delivery initiatives.
Her public sector advisory work has also included leading a State’s electricity market development engagement under a multilateral development programme, supporting the establishment and operationalisation of the State’s electricity market. The engagement involved the development of an integrated legal, regulatory, commercial, and institutional framework, and the regulatory architecture required to constitute an independent, credible, and operationally ready electricity market regulator.
Olayemi’s experience also includes regulatory and commercial structuring for regulated ventures, including natural resources and commodities, supporting licensing, set-up, operational readiness, and ongoing compliance.
She designs and facilitates practical compliance programmes, including physical and virtual compliance live labs, which translate legal and regulatory obligations into internal controls, governance processes, reporting structures, and day-to-day decision-making tools. Her work also includes collaboration with the Firm’s professional services team on process improvement and project coordination for client-facing governance and operational delivery.
